Yesterday I had the privilege to attend a special birthday for Ariel. She did not want a princess like most, oh no- she loved fashion and her friends, so she decided to invite over Miss Frankie Stein! We had never done a party with a character from Monster High before, so we here at LVPV were super excited to get a chance to use this new character! Once Ariel's mom booked the party we started right into our research-from exactly how the character dresses, to how she walks, talks, and interacts with all of her friends at school. We then got all the materials to make the perfect outfit! We try to bring the highest quality to our costumes by professionally making our own costumes and accessories to get it as close to the character as possible.
After the costume was finished the hard part began. The makeup. I had never done full body paint before but I was not going to let that deter me. After multiple paint tests and hours of mixing colors, we finally got the mint green hue of Frankie's skin.
On the day of the party, I was so excited. It took about 3.5 hours to get into full costume and makeup, but it was so worth it. When Ariel and her friends opened the door they were awestruck. They were so excited they keep me from closing the door behind me with all kinds of questions about school and my friends! After giving Ariel her certificate and gift, I told them all about my friends and classes and family. We then played a game and had a fabulous fashion show. It was absolutely wonderful! I don't think I wanted to leave! After spending a half hour I had to go and visit some more friends but I am so happy that I got the opportunity to make another exciting character come to life!
